Why is love so complicated?


Love is a headache and a heart breaking adventure. Most of the people involved will come from it with deep scars that they can never completely make disappear. And yet, we are always eager to go back and try times and times again. Why is that? Simply because, no matter how hurtful love can be it is still the most fulfilling emotion known to human life. A life without love is a life not fully lived, a complete waste. Then, you would ask what makes such a beautiful thing so complicated?Well, I would tell you that it is because it asks more from us than anything else. Love can never get satisfied with a partial commitment. Love demands your full attention and all your energy to produce fruits at the end of the day. It is not therefore love that is so complicated but mainly us that cannot live up to its expectations. We tend to believe that words will make up for our lack of devotions, and sex will solve all our shortcomings in a relation. Profanity Not Mandatory: The Negative Impacts that Of Mice and Men Has on Students


Furious parents and students challenged Of Mice and Men a total of thirty two times across schools in the United States, and at one point Of Mice and Men was the “second most frequently banned book in the public school curriculum” (Sova). Of Mice and Men goes through the life of George Milton and Lennie Small, who are migrant workers, on a ranch during the Great Depression. Throughout the book Steinbeck flooded Of Mice and Men with profanity and racial slurs. In spite of the banning of the book, Of Mice and Men is still being read in the high school curriculum because the book has “merit”. Specifically, Steinbeck’s novella earns “merit” because it is historically correct, but just because a book has historical meaning alone does not justify it being taught. Despite the historical accuracy in Of Mice and Men, this book should stay out of classrooms and high school curriculums because of how specific content on euthanasia, sexism, and racism affects students. The Truth Behind Gun Regulation


"We know we can't stop every act of violence, every act of evil in the world. But maybe we could try to stop one act of evil, one act of violence,"(Eric). These were spoken by our former president Obama a day after the Sandy Hook incident. In the fairly recent shootings in Parkland Orlando where a teen gunman accused of opening fire with a semi-automatic rifle at his former high school in Parkland, Florida, has been charged with 17 counts of premeditated murder (NBC news). When it comes to mass shootings, suicide rates the main cause of these problems is the use of guns. Currently, there have been multiple debates on solutions to gun-related violence that coincide with gun regulation; the main goal at the end is that everyone should stay safe and decrease the death of loved ones. But where the debate lies in answering this question: Should gun regulations be tightened? What should the government do to ensure this tragic event never happens again? Continue ...
